OUR DEEPEST FEAR

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

By Marianne Williamson.

Many people, nowadays have what we call,

I know some of us have been in situations where we feel insecure about our personalities. This quote helps us understand that we should be the best that we can be in every aspect of our lives and not let the words or perception of others towards us or our goals stop us from attaining our highest goals and dreams.

  1. I find fear is an interesting one – it can be highly motivating or really debilitating. It can be a toughie to get over, but when you do, it can make you feel invincible. But doing so is a lot easier said than done. Thank you for the insight.

  2. I definitely have a deep fear of failure although it is something that I am much better at dealing with today as I grow in confidence. However I have many moments where I feel inadequate and do not feel good enough but it is something that I am working on! Positive mindset all the way 🙂

  3. Overcoming fear is something that we all need to do at some point. For some, this will be more difficult than for others. And motivational words (yours are beautiful) will really make a difference in the lives of those still struggling.

  4. Fear is a very negative and destructive emotion. It can also lead us to react rather than respond to a situation. It takes a lot of patience and practise to learn how to overcome fear and anxiety. Thanks for addressing it in this post 🙂

  5. I am so glad I came across this post. I am in the middle of launching something completely new and the prospect of making it come to pass is making me afraid… I haven’t had the exact thoughts of “who am I do even try” but I think it’s there…. there is a part that wants to shrink… when God wants us all to soar. Thank you again for this reminder. It is a blessing.

  6. This is a really great post! (And I like the use of pictures! Very creative!) We put too great a stake on what will happen if we fail and fear too much of the unknown when there’s really nothing to fear!

  7. Fear can be the most damaging thing in the world to one’s self but one we face those fears, all in all, you will feel better physically and mentally. this is a very interesting post and I love the acronym

  8. This is a really interesting and thought-provoking quote. I think that people definitely do struggle with the idea of self-actualization and becoming who they are supposed to be, because they feel inadequate or like they are not ready. I personally really struggle with the idea that I am not “good enough” and it’s something that I will likely have to challenge for many years to come.

    1. I’m glad you were able to relate to this and find out that you can actuallu be better and you are actually “good enough” because you are you and you must let your light shine forth to the world!
      Happy holiday to you!!!!

  9. “I haven’t checked in here for some time since I thought it was getting boring, but the last handful of posts are really good quality so I guess I will add you back to my everyday bloglist. You deserve it my friend.”
